“The Oath of
Hippocrates” is a promise by Apollo that he will use his knowledge of medicine for
the good of others and never to bring harm.
By closely reading the Oath, one can tell that it is heavily influenced
by the values of the ancient Greek and their culture at that time. The ancient Greeks had strong values in
religion and life, but these values were conflicted in the case of abortions

will be chaste and religious in my life and in my practice.” Hippocrates is showing a strong devotion to
