It is nearly impossible for someone to complete a meaningful internship without the faithful and kind support of a good host of people. I am grateful for given a chance to meet wonderful people and professionals who led me through this internship period. I consider myself as a lucky individual with an opportunity to be part of this self-development process.
Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude and would like to express my appreciation to all those who have contributed in various forms to the success of my internship experience at Eagle Services Asia. Thank you, Eagle Services Asia, for providing me this opportunity to complete my internship programme and to experience the job of Safety Officer in one of the renowned Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) companies in Singapore. Bearing in mind, I am using this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and special thanks to the MD of Eagle Services Asia who despite being considerably busy with his duties, took time to guide me to the correct path and allowing me to participate in the given project at their esteemed organisation and extending during this internship. I would like to express my appreciation to the other teachers, Mr Zulkifli Abu Bakar, Mr Herman Lee, Mr Alvin Lee, Mr Sah Redha, hfsdhyshh for their advice, counsel, and steadfast support during my academic period and subsequent internship at Eagle Services Asia.
I also want to thank the management at Eagle Services Asia for making the internship possible. My immediate internship supervisor, Mr Peh Swee Cheong, who has allowed me the latitude and gave me the gears with which to fulfil the internship objectives. Throughout this internship, I have learnt many things about the working culture whose benefits are far beyond what I could learn from normal projects or sheets of notes. In short, I would to thank Eagle Services Asia and Nanyang polytechnic for introducing me to this amazing opportunity in which I have allow myself to develop in many ways such as academically, professionally, socially.
This following report illustrates the author’s experience with Eagle Services Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore, during the period 4th September 2017 to 15th February 2018 under the mentorship of Ms Wu Hung Yee and supervision of Mr Peh Swee Cheong It is intended to prove that this experience successfully fulfil the objectives of the internship.
Following an evaluation of the internship objectives, Eagle’s company background, organizational structure and operations and typical engine overhaul reviewed. The major project undertaken during the internship is introduced and the methodological basis of the project is discussed. The author’s thorough work assignments and contributions in Environmental, Health & Safety department and facilities department, are then unveiled. The work assignments include analysis of participated inspection walk; systematic approach of tracking accidents; water treatment control, analysis and report; documentation maintenance and updates.
Thus evidently, both program and personal objectives of internship were in fact met.
