Our Founding Fathers are the reason most people can live or visit the USA. One of our Founding Fathers was William Richardson Davie. Researching him made me appreciate what people have done to make this a free country. Finding these facts made me feel inspired to do what I believe is right. These people are astounding for making this country the way it is. James Richardson Davie was born June 20, 1756, in Egremont, the United Kingdom to Archibald and Mary Richardson. The way he got the name Davie is from his uncle who he was sent to live with when he was eight years old. His uncle lived in Lancaster, South Carolina. When he was finally old enough to go to college, he went to Princeton University in Elizabeth New Jersey. There studied to become a lawyer but then he went to war.He became General after he graduated college. When he quit from being a general he became  Justice of the United States Supreme Court and was known to be the best of two lawyers in the state. He married Sarah Jones, the daughter of the General Allen Jones who he served under. Later on, he had three children; Elizabeth Kimbrough, Mary Haynes Crockett, and Allen Jones Davie, II. He and his family lived in Chester County. He lived there after he finished fighting as a Patriot. William is recognized for fighting as a Patriot and being part of the conference that created our Constitution. He became interested in this field of work when he was in college, studying law and during his experience in war as a General. The most important events in his life, besides his wife and kids were his job and all the great things he did for this country. He then retired at the age of 46.Before Williams great departure from our Earth, he retired from politics after his wife perished. He died November 18, 1820, in Chester County, South Carolina. His wife died in April of 1802. He was buried in Waxhaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery, SC. He’s been remembered as a lawyer and Founding Father. I feel happy that he did what he loved and grateful for what he did for this country. I’m impressed with how he helped make this country the way it is today and how it will be in the future.
